The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 9,400 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 16 years to get that many views.
After June 12 of 2009, Iranian citizens took to the streets to peacefully protest the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and were met with a brutal show of force by the secret police. On June 20th one of the protesters, Neda Soltan was murdered in cold blood and Neda became the symbol of Iran’s Green Revolution.
In contrast newly elected President Barack Obama sat silent and said nothing in support of Iranians quest for freedom and democracy. Instead he was photographed taking his family out for ice cream.
Since then, whenever there are people risking their lives for freedom in an oppressive Islamist middle eastern country, look to the nearest ice cream parlor for Obama’s reaction. That smile is for ice cream and not for those who are fighting for liberty; this President can only vote “Present”.
When it was politically expedient, Obama lauded the “Arab Spring” of 2011, even claiming credit for it. When protests began in Tahrir Square in Cairo, both he and Hillary Clinton quickly threw Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak under the bus, telling him to relinquish power. Suddenly President Obama regained his voice and promoted a peaceful transition in Egypt.
On June 24th of this year, Mohamed Morsi representing the Muslim Brotherhood, was elected President of Egypt. Most Washington wonks expressed concern that this would mean that Egypt would become another extreme Islamist state.
The Obama White House extolled the election as a great example of democracy, even downplaying the Brotherhood’s murderous past. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, stated that the Muslim Brotherhood was now “largely secular in its orientation.”
Within days of assisting in brokering a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza, Morsi, declared himself and the two legislative bodies dominated by his Muslim Brotherhood to be above the reach of the nation’s judicial branch and the constitution. There are real fears that this is the first step in forcing Egypt to be ruled by Sharia law.
President Obama has said nothing, not one word of condemnation on Morsi’s illegal grab for power, but then Barack has been fairly cavalier himself, when it comes to respecting the U.S. Constitution.
Iran is edging closer to having nuclear weapons, Syria’s government is killing it’s people with impunity and Egypt looks to be the next Islamist state. Where is President Obama on all this? Playing golf for the 107th time and then directing his 24 car motorcade to the nearest ice cream parlor for a triple cone.
Obama and his family will be heading off to their annual Hawaiian vacation on December 17th and while there, expect lots of photos of him enjoying his favorite shaved ice.
Contrast those happy family Christmas photo-ops of licking ice cream, with our fiscal troubles, Hamas firing rockets into Israel, Iran going nuclear, Syria’s thousands of dead civilians, Egyptians being robbed of a democratic voice and the murders of four U.S. citizens in Benghazi, Libya.
That’s who this nation has re-elected for another four years of impotence and abrogation of responsibility; our ice cream eating failure, the 45th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
Tonight’s election result does nothing to bring this divided nation together. The popular vote is almost dead even, (at the time of writing), it is Obama 52,307,548 to Romney’s 51,850,797.
Despite the Electoral College numbers, 303 Obama to 203 Romney; with Florida literally calling it a night to complete their count later on Wednesday. We as a nation, have not given President Barack Obama a solid mandate to continue his march forward.
So where the hell are we? The Democrat and Republican parties have spent a combined $2 billion dollars for us to have no clear winner. The Republicans still hold the majority in the House of Representatives (219 R, 158D, 58 yet undecided) and the Senate is still held by the Democrats (51 D, 44 R, 3 still in play).
We have huge legislative issues still on the table, another debt ceiling increase, taxmageddon, Social Security and Medicare headed towards insolvency, as well as the funding and running of Obamacare.
So there President Obama gives his victory speech with out one damn word about how he will unite this country, or solve it’s problems. He can only hand out bouquets to his party faithfuls, it’s like I’m in Red China at the height of Mao’s reign.
The reason he cannot unite us and make all of us feel proud is because it is not within him. Obama can only play the hand he knows, Statism, Government is your savior and I am your leader. We’ll be hearing school kids singing ‘Oh Obama’ again in days.
So there is “Dear Leader” speechifying to an adoring audience, one wonders if he is capable of hearing the cries of the rest of us little people out there?
Will he finally tack to the center to win consensus? Or just cry for unity, while he juts his nose in the air? Can Obama be respectful and less arrogant to be a true President of ALL the people?
I strongly doubt it.
I’m reminded of Tennessee Ernie Ford’s lyrics from “Sixteen Tons”
You load sixteen tons what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don’t you call me ’cause I can’t go
I owe my soul to the company store
President Obama continues to campaign for re-election, avoiding answers to the troubling questions about the murders in Benghazi of Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods on September 11th, 2012.
The legacy press and media are aiding and abetting this disgraceful cover up by avoiding this scandal completely.
If it were not for Fox News, Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze.com and Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com, the U.S. voter would only be hearing about Bain, Birth Control, Binders, Big Bird, Bayonets, Bullshit and not Benghazi.
Obama hopes to keep it buried until after his diminishing chances for re election, but the facts keep coming out as we slowly learn the truth. Ironically, this administration has leaked too much secure information when it came to touting the killing of Bin Laden, now suddenly they can keep a “secret”.
We already know that Reuters reportedly obtained three emails dispatched by the State Department’s Operations Center to multiple government offices, including addresses at the White House, Pentagon, intelligence community and FBI, on the afternoon of September 11.
The first email came 20-30 minutes after the attack. It carried the subject “U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi Under Attack.” That email said “approximately 20 armed people fired shots; explosions have been heard as well.”
The White House and Department of State clung to a story that this attack was the result of a “anti-Muslim video” and even arrested a U.S. citizen living in California to back up their claim.
The most disgraceful moment was on September 14, during the ceremony at Joint Base Andrews honoring the four fallen heroes, when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attempted to hide the terrorist assault this way, “We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with. It is hard for the American people to make sense of that because it is senseless, and it is totally unacceptable.”
This is a desperate White House who have thrown the CIA, the Defense Department, the Department of State and the brave souls of four Americans under the bus.
Retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer said Saturday he has sources saying President Barack Obama was in the situation room at the White House watching the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya unfold.
Two unarmed U.S. drones were dispatched to the consulate and recorded the final hours of the attack, which killed U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
A former Department of Defense official said Friday that if President Barack Obama really gave an order to secure U.S. personnel when the consulate in Libya came under assault, there will a paper trail to prove it.
Francis “Bing” West, who served as an assistant secretary of defense under President Ronald Reagan, told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren that the president’s explanation about his actions when the U.S. mission in Benghazi was attacked should be easily verifiable.
On Friday, Fox News Channel’s Jennifer Griffin reported that sources on the ground in Benghazi told her “that three urgent requests from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack nearly seven hours later were denied by officials in the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators to ‘stand down’ rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.”
The day before, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said there was not enough clear information coming from Benghazi ”and as a result of not having that kind of information, the commander who was on the ground — or in that area, General Ham, General Dempsey and I felt very strongly that we could not put forces at risk in that situation.” He added, “this happened within a few hours and it was really over before, you know, we had the opportunity to really know what was happening.”
This is all in dispute according to Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz who sits on two Homeland Security subcommittees relaying the responses from General Carter Ham heading up the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) who had direct responsibility for the situation.
General Ham told Chaffetz that the forces were available, but that no order to use them was given. Defense Secretary Panetta had claimed that the refusal to use force had come from him, General Dempsey and General Ham.
On 18 October 2012, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta participated in a “DOD News Briefing on Efforts to Enhance the Financial Health of the Force.” In his introductory remarks, Mr. Panetta said: “Today I am very pleased to announce that President Obama will nominate General David Rodriguez to succeed General Carter Ham as commander of U.S. Africa Command . . .”
So rumors are flying that General Ham has been relieved of duty for not staying under the big wheels of the White House Bus.
This disgraceful action by President Obama fits the narrative he clings to; Osama is dead and Al Qaeda is on the run. That’s why the “War on Terror” was replaced by weaker terms such as “Overseas Contingency Operations”, “Man Caused Disasters” and “Workplace Violence”.
Obama wants to continue to appease the radical Muslims still believing the premise of his Cairo speech of 2009 and his support of the Muslim Brotherhood in the “Arab Spring”. In his speech before the U.N. General Assembly of September 25th, Obama said, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”
To me the future must not belong to those who kill U.S. citizens in cold blood!
It is easy to point all the blame at President Obama who has shown a huge weakness in protecting our interests and defending these United States at home and abroad, made even worse on the anniversary of September 11th.
Whenever we learn the awful truth behind this catastrophic foreign intelligence failure and the reasons that four brave citizens serving our country died, we might be able to charge the guilty and punish the murderers.
In the meantime, our President has refused to take any responsibility for this tragedy and deserves to be booted out of office on November 6th.
I have great hope that a majority in this nation believe as I do; Barack Obama — You’re Fired!
So it’s over, three debates and I’m exhausted. I believe that Mitt Romney played it safe – he’s ahead in the polls and all Obama could do was defend and deflect.
I do not think this will move the dials at all. The questions and answers were too wonkish for the average voter. The American voter only cares about jobs and the economy. They only perked up when they both brought it back to jobs.
I know the pundits will score it once again for Obama, but on content it was all Romney. Obama looked confident, because he could repeat his stump speeches, which has always been lots of rhetoric, little on fact and more on bluster.
Mitt Romney appeared nervous at first, but then his confidence level went up. Romney did not try to attack or go out on a limb. He was told to be calm and not go off tangent, be a leader.
President Obama did attack and try to demean once again, but this backfired badly. Mitt Romney kept telling Obama that personal attacks do not define policy. This then allowed Romney to outline his overall views.
We already know what Obama has done and not done. The nation is well aware of what Barack promised four years ago and failed to achieve. Obama has a failed record, while Romney is saying, just give me the shot and the nation will win.
My prediction is based on my feelings only; Romney will continue to rise in the national and swing state polls, while Obama will reach total desperation. In the last week Obama will unleash poisonous attack after poisonous attack, only to turn off the electorate.
Mitt Romney will become the 45th President of the United States and good times are ahead!
The State Owned Media, Obama surrogates and most pundits all agree that Barack Obama won handily over Mitt Romney in last night’s second debate. However undecided voters in focus groups on MSNBC and Fox News had it much differently, declaring Romney the winner?
Even worse, the CNN flash poll had even more proof that Romney won;
“Who would do a better job on the economy?” 58% Romney 40% Obama (CBS had it at 65% Romney 34% Obama)
“Who would do a better job on health care?” 49% Romney 46% Obama
“Who would better handle Taxes?” 51% Romney 44% Obama
“Who would better handle the deficit?” 59% Romney 36% Obama
Despite those overwhelming numbers for Mitt Romney, CNN’s Headline read that Obama won this debate 46% to 39% for Romney. I call this Journalistic Malpractice.
It is also the result of really lousy polling as they only canvassed 457 Registered Voters. But considering the number of viewers CNN has, that probably reflects their entire viewing audience!
The true “winner” of this debate could be CNN’s Candy Crowley, who injected her own analysis of what she believed President Obama said in his Rose Garden speech of September 12th. Crowley stepped in way over her pay grade and was suddenly the Referee stopping a touchdown, passing judgement on what the President did or didn’t say. (Watch the video and ignore the caption)
This interruption stopped Romney’s response and he may have been ready to pounce on the fact that Obama, Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice kept touting a never seen YouTube video as the reason for their claim of a “spontaneous protest”. A cover, that President Obama stated two weeks later at the United Nations, blaming the video 6 times and the murders via terrorism 0.
Candy Crowley showed even more institutional bias by interrupting Mitt Romney 28 times to Barack Obama’s 9. Why the RNC keeps agreeing to these Liberal moderators is beyond me. Why not a Brit Hume, Mike Wallace or even Megyn Kelly for at least one of the three presidential debates?
Despite this, Mitt Romney got to defend his position on the GM bailout, his 5 point tax plan and how he is nothing like George Bush. Romney provided detailed answers of his policies and how he views America very differently from Barack Obama.
President Obama stuck to his stump boiler plate and rhetorical answers to the questions. His biggest gaffe was on oil prices, claiming that the reason they were $1.84 a gallon in 2008 was because the economy was in bad shape. So by that equation, $4.50 a gallon today means the economy is booming?
This debate will not stop Obama’s poll numbers from declining and it has reinforced those undecideds that Barack Obama promises nothing new if he gets another four years. They have only one choice, fire Obama and elect Mitt Romney as President to re energize our economy, jobs and make the United States the best place on earth, once again.
After endless months of campaigning, days worth of talking head surrogates and idiot pundits, President Obama and Mitt Romney held the first of their three debates. Hallelujah!
Jim Leher’s opening was almost bungled, but what do you expect from a very old rich liberal white guy.
Round 1, 2, 3, 4 and on – all on the Economy, so why did they need segments or Leher for that matter?
Obama started off with his boiler plate stump speech on the “worst economy” and the jobs lost and then his faux jobs created, the auto industry is “roaring back”. Then Obama’s left slant on spending, spending, spending. He could only talk about the standard Liberal philosophy of the lat 50 years, ‘investing more in education”, closing loop holes for companies “shipping jobs overseas”. Then on to his energy boiler plate about wind, solar and bio-fuels. He kept that up the entire night and kept looking to Jim Leher for help, hardly looking at Romney, while speaking.
Romney was very well prepared and came off very presidential with great experience as a former Governor and a savvy business man. He landed the right punches and countered Obama’s terrible record every chance he could. Mitt Romney attacked the agenda and failures of Obama; the deficit, the increased cost of healthcare, the rise of welfare, unemployment and the $90 billion into failed green energy programs.
Obama continually resorted to his standard stump speeches and leftist agenda that has only been warmly accepted by his supporters. At the debate he had to defend his failures for the first time because he was challenged by Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney was on the offensive all evening and attacked smartly with memorable lines like, “trickle down Government” and (Obama’s) “path is unsuccessful”, “$90 billion to failed green energy”, “you pick losers”.
The left is screaming mad, CNN has given the debate victory to Romney and MSNBC is calling all of Romney’s facts ‘lies”.
We got ’em buzzing and this is a great momentum changer and boost for Mitt Romney.
The Vice Presidential debate on the 11th will continue the success as Paul Ryan will take Joe Biden apart.
CNN/ORC Poll among registered voters; 67% Romney, 25% Obama!
