Obama’s Failed Presidency

Nearly twenty months into Obama’s presidency it is obvious that he has failed. Gallup currently puts Obama’s job approval at 42%, while 49% disapprove of his performance. That’s what happens when the country elects an untested, immature neophyte to the most important job in the world.

A Worried President

With over 576 speeches since Obama took the oath of office and thousands of hours of face time on television, this president has little to show for it except a huge set of bad numbers.

The Economy

The Democrats took over Congress in 2006, seven million jobs have been lost, three and a half million since Obama’s inauguration. Unemployment is at about 9.6%., that’s about 14.6 million people. Nevada is at 14.2%; Michigan, 13.2% and California at 12.3%. The GDP showed zero growth in 2008, it declined by 2.6 percent in 2009. The Consumer Price Index ticked up by 0.3% in July, and Productivity decreased by 0.9%. The housing market crash continues as home prices keep falling and about 1 in 4 single-family homes with mortgages are in negative equity. Consumer Confidence declined 3.9% in July.

We really do not need tables and government supplied statistics to know that the U.S. economy is in serious trouble and the outlook is dismal. This administration and Congress is deaf, dumb and blind to the harsh reality of every American. The Treasury Department announced that Federal spending eclipsed revenue for the 22nd straight month. In 2009, the U.S. ran a record $1.42 trillion deficit. Fiscal 2010 will run higher and the Obama administration projects $1.47 trillion. The Presidency

Public opinion means nothing to President Obama. Obama is aloof, an elitist and is out of touch with ordinary Americans, especially during this time of economic pain. The Imperial President spends hours on the golf course and Michelle Obama takes a badly timed and expensive holiday to Spain.

The public lacks confidence in Obama’s leadership as his policies are all over the map. Take his position on the controversial Ground Zero mosque; on Friday before a dinner with Muslims celebrating the end of Ramadhan he touted the Constitution and the choice of the site as not a problem. On Saturday he walked that statement back. This is similar to his off the cuff statements on the Cambridge police, the Arizona Immigration bill and a host of gaffes while not aware of the facts.

Just Obama’s handling of the Gulf Oil spill, speaks volumes to his ineptitude. He dithered and delayed, never offering a decisive plan, just bashing BP and then shutting down offshore drilling. A majority of Louisiana voters think George W. Bush did a better job with Katrina than Obama’s done dealing with the spill.

Domestic Policy

Obama has a bigger government is better policy, with bailouts and stimulus spending through the roof. The Bush tax cuts soon to expire means we will all be hit with tax increases. The Health Care bill, poorly conceived and rushed into law will be both a financial and social disaster. Already over 55% want it repealed before it takes full effect in 2014.

Obama is still clinging to an open borders, amnesty approach to illegal immigration. Every move is either pandering to the left, then the independents and finally demagogueing the opposition. It is a direct copy of Saul Alinsky style community organizing principles. Obama’s cabinet and advisors are mostly Harvard graduates with little or no real business world experience. By surrounding himself with academia he lacks any judgement beyond his think tank and focus group talking points.

National Security

Obama has embraced his most leftist leanings by diminishing the focus on terrorism and downgrading it to a criminal activity; “Overseas Contingency Operation”. With Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security and Attorney General, Eric Holder there is a muddled policy on Guantanamo and the KSM terror trials, still scheduled for New York city.

Obama continues to draw down troops from Iraq, without a secure elected government in place. In contradiction to  his Afghanistan troop surge he is sticking to the July 2011 withdrawal of U.S. Forces as the Taliban gain political and territorial strength.

Foreign Policy

What a mess. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton bragged about Obama’s use of “Smart Power” – where is it? The White House has never stood up to Iran’s nuclear program, or Russia’s demands to stop the U.S. missile defense shield. Obama has only appeasement appeals to the despots and dictators in Syria, Turkey, China and North Korea, while pushing back against our strongest allies like Great Britain, France, Germany and Israel. President Obama has done more to weaken the United States standing in the world community than Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush combined.

Obama’s View of America

President Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism, instead he travels the globe apologising  for the U.S.A. Obama has stated, “no one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold.”

Some twenty one months after Obama was elected, most of the voters now see “The One” as the Failed One – if only they had truly listened.
