Obama Speeds Up The Race To The Bottom

While Health Care has been front and center this one almost got by us. In the Washington Times the headline is:

Obama endorses immigration blueprint

President Obama on Thursday gave a thumbs-up to the framework of a plan to legalize illegal immigrants and create a flow of low-skilled foreign workers for the future. The bill being worked on by La Raza loving Republican lawmaker Lindsey Graham, South Carolina and his Democrat counterpart Charles E. Schumer, “the chattering class” New York Democrat.

The long-awaited framework, written by Sens. Schumer and Graham, calls for illegal immigrants to be put on a path to citizenship and would create a temporary program for future foreign workers. Maybe most contentious of all, it would turn all Social Security cards into tamper-proof IDs to be checked by employers when they are about to hire a new worker. The cards would include biometric information designed to prevent counterfeiting — but the senators said the information would not be stored in a government database.

It’s back! Amnesty for illegal aliens. As soon as the Democrats kill us with Obamcare, their next target is low wage jobs that American citizens need. Ironically this attempt to lower our wages permanently is being encouraged by SEIU and many unions.

Schumer and Graham outlined the basic premise in an editorial in the Washington Post, The right way to mend immigration.

Their proposal is a copy of the same hated policy that John McCain-Ted Kennedy and President Bush tried to force down our throats in 2007 and failed.

“For the 11 million immigrants already in this country illegally, we would provide a tough but fair path forward. They would be required to admit they broke the law and to pay their debt to society by performing community service and paying fines and back taxes. These people would be required to pass background checks and be proficient in English before going to the back of the line of prospective immigrants to earn the opportunity to work toward lawful permanent residence.”
