Obama Reacts Too Late On Christmas Day Terrorist Attack

UPDATE: 12/29/09 13:30PT Moments ago President Obama voted “present” once again by making an audio only statement about the aborted terrorist attack on Christmas day. Obama used his time to lay blame on other government officials as opposed to being presidential man enough to take charge, “Mix of human and systemic failures”. It is important to note that again, Obama did not use the word terrorist but the more PC term of “extremist”. This White House continues to believe the United States is safer from Islamo-Terrorism, because we elected Barack Obama President. Prove it!

Once again President Obama is in front of the American people to create the appearance that he is really leading this country. I think the public sees this as another transparent attempt at being presidential and helping his polling numbers. Obama abandoned his duty to protect this nation a long time ago. He is an epic failure.

It has taken him three days to give any semblance of a public reaction to the luckily failed in flight bomb detonation by terrorist Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab. Obama also made a statement on the ongoing unrest in Iran, again a full two days after the events began.

The last time world events were moving faster than his presidential advisors, Obama was eating ice cream with the family in Martha’s Vineyard. This time he’s in Hawaii, golfing, working out at the marine base gym and having idyllic picnics on the beach. This is an absolute abdication of the duties of our President and Commander-in-Chief.

There are so many questions raised now after this complete breakdown of airport screenings and the terror watch lists. There were lots of red flags about this potential attack that were missed as once again no one bothered to connect the dots.

The results of an overly sensitized administration, bent on reversing all of the lessons learned from the attacks of September 11th are bearing fruit. Obama is desperate to appease the Muslim world and erase the words “Global War on Terrorism” to the benign “Man Caused Disasters”. In today’s statement he never said “terrorism”, “Muslim”, “Jihad”, or “Al Queda”. Obviously this stance has not stopped Islamo-terrorists from wanting to kill us.

Will this near miss result in a change of policy, not likely. The White House still plans to release over 80 Guantanamo detainees to Yemen. Despite the fact that AbdulMutallab spent a few months there where he received his training and the bomb ingredients. The KSM show trial in New York city is still on track as well as the Illinois prison to hold the remaining detainees. Don’t forget that Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s attack at Fort Hood is still not being called a terrorist event — that’s proof enough of their blindness.

The MSM still gives Obama cover while the White House and Democrats look through the wrong end of the telescope to give them the optics to blame Bush, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan instead of taking the responsibility of defending our nation from attacks both foreign and domestic.
