Political Elite Pay Homage To Elitist Ted Kennedy

Friday, August 28, 2009

The rich, the famous, the powerful — all career politicians gathered in Boston to pay homage to Senator Ted Kennedy in a memorial service at the JFK Library. I’m sure the combined wealth of everyone in the room could put a serious dent in the cost of that Health Care bill they are in such a rush to pass in September.

It was a Who’s-Who of  the Washington elites; Vice-President Joe Biden, Sen. John Kerry, Sen. Oren Hatch, Sen. Chris Dodd, Sen. John McCain, Sen Chuck Schumer, Walter Mondale and Nancy Pelosi.

Many who spoke about Teddy, regaled about his love of booze, the ocean and sailing. Apt metaphors for that ship of fools sailing the oceans of our money in Washington, with it’s Captain, Barack Obama, drunk with power.

While they were all celebrating and patting themselves on the back for their years of robbing us blind, they failed to realize that there is no one on watch at the helm and the reefs are fast approaching.

The legacy of Ted Kennedy may have ended, but the era of big government is just on the sea’s horizon. The citizens need to man the lifeboats and light the lighthouse lamp. The elitists are coming, the elitists are coming!

Mark Steyn continues the discussion in “Airbrushing out Mary Jo Kopechne”.

You restore my faith in our future. You see it the way it’s going to be.
The politicians seek favor, cash, and sponsorship from the powerful and wealthy. Politicians leave office wealthy, powerful, and continue this thriving elite strata that are above the law and the rules we live every day. Multi million mortgage below cost, no problem if you’re Seantor Dodd. Congressman Rangle forget $750,000 of taxable money, no problem!

All I know is that our financial collapse is directly tied to senators and congressmen who got big donations from the companies that brought down our economy. These same senators and congressman put 7 million people out of work by their greed, self interest, and deals with the big donors that screwed homeowners, investors, and pension funds.
