McCain Chooses Palin As VP — Brilliant Political Move
Like a hurricane, John McCain blew Barack Obama off the media’s spotlight today by naming Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin as his VP choice. Picking a woman to be his running mate, McCain surprised everyone and highlighted Obama’s glaring omission in not choosing Hillary Clinton.
With this move John McCain has not only invigorated his campaign but transformed the election into a more historic one. This was a clear message to the disaffected supporters of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and all women voters.
The Democrats immediately criticized McCain by saying that Palin was a Washington outsider and far too inexperienced to be a heartbeat from the Presidency. Yet Obama, their nominee for President calls himself a Washington outsider and is also far too inexperienced to be Commander in Chief. Check Mate!
Sarah Palin is a refreshing change and the first female candidate for Vice President in 24 years. In her acceptance speech she thanked Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton for paving the way.
Sarah Palin, 44 is the mother of five children and her husband, Todd owns a commercial fishing business. Their eldest son is in the Army and he is heading to Iraq on Sept. 11.
She is the first female governor of Alaska and youngest ever, elected in 2006 as a change agent. She described herself as “just your average hockey mom,” who joined the P.T.A., was elected to the City Council and then served as mayor and as governor, adding that she did not get into government to take the safe course.
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why the ship is built,” Ms. Palin said, adding that she would “challenge the status quo to serve the common good.”
Palin, a former mayor of the small town of Wasilla, an Anchorage suburb, and one-time beauty pageant queen, first rose to prominence as a whistle-blower uncovering ethical misconduct in state government.
Gov. Palin opposes abortion rights, she’s for drilling in Anwr and she has been pushing for a new pipeline that would pump trillions of cubic feet of natural gas from the North Slope to the lower 48 states.
Palin is my kind of politician who has proven she can deliver the change that Obama has just been talking about.
This is going to be one hell of an election night on November 4th.

This is awesome! I wouldn’t care if Gov. Palin was a second generation trimaphroditic Venusian, her record speaks for itself. This is brilliant! Yeah!
Most excellent choice! I was not enthusiastic about McCain prior to this announcement. Perhaps reason will prevail after all. We shall see.
Wow, you are seriously drinking the cool aid here. Sarah Palin’s experience consists of 20 months as Governor of a very small constituency, and mayor of a town of 8000. She has 5 kids. The baby has Downs Syndrome, and the oldest is just beginning her senior year of high school and is pregnant. Got pregnant at 16 by the way. I applaud her for keeping the child and taking responsibility for her actions, but getting married??!!! That stupid decision does NOT make the earlier stupid decision any less so. I mean really? A kid just beginning her senior year getting married. Stupid. Stupid parents for letting her. You need to be 18 by the way, so her parents are going to have to sign off on the marriage. It does NOT show good judgment on Sarah Palin’s part. She has way too much going on at home to take this giant leap forward politically.
Sarah Palin is simply a very stupid choice. She is not ready to be “one heartbeat away from the presidency” If you say she is, then you are seriously kidding yourself and not being honest. It disgusts me to hear the pundits say that she has foreign policy credentials because Alaska is close to Russia. I mean give me a break. We are better than that. There were so many better choices for our county. She was a choice based SOLELY on trying to win the election at the expense of doing a good job of leading our country. Mitt Romney must be fuming, I know I am. What a joke. It’s making it hard for us to criticize the Dems when I know in my heart of hearts that we picked the weakest, worst vice presidential candidate we possible could.
