Barack Obama Presumptive Democratic Nominee Is Presumptuous

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Obama has a lot of chutzpah – he just left Israel, his next stop is Berlin. After he meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Obama plans a big campaign rally at the “Victory Column” — the Siegessaeule. His campaign calls it a speech “on strengthening trans-Atlantic ties.”

This is really another photo-op, an orchestrated media event designed to showcase his tiresome “Hope and Change” mantra to an adoring crowd of Germans. The real attempt is to saturate the U.S. network news shows with sound bytes of how ‘loved” Barack is in Europe.

Who cares — let him run for elected office as a socialist in Germany then.

Mayhill Fowler in the lefist Huffington Post describes the hand out card shown above as, the artwork reminiscent of both German Expressionism and Soviet Constructivism in its depiction of a frowning Barack….a Communist who used to live in East Berlin, likes the card. He asks for a stack to replace the usual Communist literature he puts in the mailboxes of his new neighbors in West Berlin.”

There is also some controversy about the location of Obama’s speech. In the newspaper, Bild am Sonntag, Andreas Schockenhoff, deputy chairman of the Christian Democrats in parliament, criticized the “unhappy symbolism” of the venue.

“The Berlin Victory Column is dedicated to victory over neighbors (the 19th century Prussian military victories over Denmark, France and Austria) who today are our European friends and allies,” he said.

“The Siegessaeule in Berlin was moved from the Reichstag (German parliament) to its current position by Adolf Hitler,” Rainer Bruederle, deputy chairman of the opposition Liberal Party, FDP,

One newspaper calls it the “Obama show,”

The left makes a big deal of how worried they are about the world’s view of the United States — hoping that Obama will miraculously change that opinion.

Europeans have always hated the USA while they love our movies, system of government, television, freedom, clothing, cowboys, Indians, technology and wide open spaces. They may march in the streets against us, but they’ll still want our military to save their sorry asses.

Obama can have his big campaign rally in Berlin and the MSM can drool over his faux charm.

Obama’s arrogance, huge ego and elitism is a big turn off for me and part of the many reasons I don’t like him. By November the voters will see him as non-electable and he’ll loose the general to McCain.
