Obama’s Mid-East Tour: Great Photo-Ops — Nothing In Foreign Policy
On July 14th Barack Obama stated his position on Iraq in an Op-Ed piece in the New York Times, called My Plan for Iraq, several days ahead of his tour of Afghanistan, Iraq and a meeting with General Petraous.
“I opposed the war in Iraq before it began, and would end it as president….But the same factors that led me to oppose the surge still hold true.”
Well he’s seen both battlefields and spent a few hours with the General and he hasn’t changed his opinion one bit and I’m not surprised.
Did anyone really think that Obama would suddenly reject his leftist anti-war rhetoric that won him the Democratic nomination? Lara Logan, Katie Couric of CBS and Terry Moran of ABC all asked Obama if he would acknowledge that the surge has worked — he still lives in denial and refuses to accept the facts.
As ABC reported: “Sen Barack Obama, D-ILL, said Monday his opposition to the surge and his support for a firm timetable for the withdrawal of troops hasn’t changed.”
Obama is a disgrace — he doesn’t want to acknowledge or even thank the men and woman of the U.S. military who have sacrificed so much to give him the opportunity to visit Nouri al-Maliki, the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iraq!
Now his world-tour takes him from a press conference in Jordan, where he said, “Israel is a strong friend of Israel” to meetings with Olmert and Abbas in Israel.
This is what the Israeli press thinks of his trip as written by David Ha’ivri of Arutz Sheva, An Open Letter to Barack Obama
“Barack Obama, why don’t you just go home?
Barack, your visit here is just a waste of time; you’re not wanted or needed here. We’ll do just fine without you and you’ll probably do better with out us, too. Don’t come around here making as if you’re looking out for the good of Israel. We know who you are and who your friends are.
Zigzagging back and forth about dividing or un-dividing Jerusalem won’t clear your history.
Jerusalem won’t clear your history.”
Don’t expect much more as he travels to Britain, France and Germany. Obama is a junior senator with less than four years of experience in Washington and don’t forget that he has spent the last 18 months of it campaigning for President.
Rasmusson Reports of Wednesday, July 23rd says, “While Obama has been on an overseas tour, 45% of voters say the Democratic hopeful is too inexperienced to be President. That’s up four percentage points from a week ago. An equal number—45%–disagree with that assessment and say Obama has the necessary experience.”
The bottom line is Obama knows nothing about the world, our military, the Constitution or what it takes to be President of the United States.
Pretty pictures do not make you Commander in Chief.

Damn you’re good at that “boiling it all down” in the last sentence or two.
