Democrats — Beneath Contempt

The entire Democratic party and their Presidential hopefuls have sunk to even lower lows. Despite their winning numbers in both the Senate and the House from the 2006 mid-term elections, the Democrats have not been able to pass any major legislation that they claim their victory was all about.

Iraq War

The Democrats are the anti-war party and have staked their political future on re-deploying troops in Iraq as well as ending the war. So far they have failed in every legislative attempt to do either. Listening to the top three Presidential candidates; Clinton, Obama and Edwards talk about what they’d do about the war when elected is like reading the press releases of Code Pink, and MoveOn.org. They do not have any real answers that address the realities of U.S. foreign policy or the aftermath of a U.S. troop withdrawal.

Illegal Immigration

They are the Amnesty party for Illegal Aliens and support open borders. They continue to try to sneak in amnesty for illegals, such as the “Dream Act”. In the most recent Democratic Presidential debate, Clinton, Obama and Edwards all stated they would do nothing to end Sanctuary City policies — which is in direct violation of federal immigration law! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the plan to build fencing along parts of the Mexico border a “terrible idea”. Pelosi made the comments during a trip to the Rio Grande Valley. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) promised to try to include the AgJOBS amnesty for illegal farmworkers in the farm bill (H.R. 2419). The Democrats just don’t care about legal immigrants or U.S. Citizens.

Universal Health Care

They are determined to bring in socialized medical care. I used to live in Canada and believe me the system has run aground. Fraud is wide spread, hospitals are lacking beds and prompt care. It will cost the taxpayers far more for the government to run the system. Hillary Clinton has even proposed the idea of “baby bonds” – $5,000 payouts to every baby born in America, but quickly backed away from the $20 billion plan. They have no plan on fixing the Health Care Insurance Industry — which is where the problem lies, because they get loads of PAC money from them.

“Honest Government”

Remember Pelosi’s speech after election day? They promised to end the era of corruption — seen any changes yet? Of course not, they are as corrupt and vile as the previous majority. Congress’s approval ratings are as low as the Watergate era at 23%, that contrasts with George Bush’s approval rating of 32%! Before pointing fingers the Democrats should clean up their house first.

Energy Policy

What energy policy? Their Energy Bill passed this past summer increased fuel mileage requirements for passenger cars – but that’s about it. They passed an expansion of renewable fuels over the next decade — to 36 billion gallons a year of alternatives to gasoline — but did little to actually promote those fuels through tax breaks or other subsidies. They failed to pass an attempt to raise taxes on oil companies by about $32 billion and to use the money on tax breaks for wind power, solar power, ethanol and other renewable fuels. So once again they failed in what they said they would do with their majority.

Economic Restraint

The Democrats are spending recklessly just like the Republicans. The only difference is the pork is heading to their districts this time around.

Voter ID

Just like their love for Illegal Aliens they refuse to support a national voter ID act, where Driver’s licences would be required to prove that you are the one who is voting. Why would they want to cut down on voter fraud and thousands of Illegal Aliens voting for them.

Fairness Doctrine

They write letters condemning Rush Limbaugh and threaten to castrate Talk Radio and any media that opposes their view. The Democrats are sounding more like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro every day.

The “Bill Clinton” Factor

It seems like the anointing of Hillary Clinton as the presumed next President of the United States is the hope that getting Hillary elected will give us another four years of Bill Clinton. Lots of Democratic supporters I’ve talked to really believe that this will reverse time and bring back the Bill Clinton era. Even Frank Rich of the New York Times fears what Hillary will do to the country — he’s as big as a Democrat supporter as they come!

The Democrats have abandoned the very people they claim they stand for — it’s politics as usual — they know better than us. But we really know better than them and will show them who is really in power in November 2008.
