Who Would Jesus Deport?
Let’s hope it’s Elvira Arellano.
Last August 15, 2006 instead of attending an Immigration hearing, she took refuge in the Adalberto United Methodist church in Chicago to avoid arrest and deportation. The Church claims she asked for sanctuary — Elvira is still there . She is considered a fugitive by U.S. authorities. The open borders crowd and the left are painting this as the mean U.S government trying to deport someone the L.A. Times describes as an “undocumented Mexican cleaning woman”.

Here’s the real story: Arellano entered the United States illegally in 1997, was apprehended and deported back to Mexico by the United States government. She returned within days and lived for three years in Oregon. In 1999 she gave birth to her son, (anchor baby) — Saul. Elvira refuses to name the father.
She then moved to Chicago in 2000 and worked cleaning airplanes at O’Hare International Airport. In 2002, following a post-September 11 security sweep, she was arrested and was charged with fraudulently obtaining airport security clearance, a federal offense punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Arellano was convicted of using a false Social Security number to obtain employment and was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to be deported again.
Patrick J. Fitzgerald, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois said, “If we’re going to have any chance to make our airports secure from crime, most importantly for terrorism … we have to know who is working there,”
William Cotter, who heads the investigative arm of the Social Security Administration in Chicago: “Any number of them could have compromised the integrity of the security system in place.”
The Open Borders/Amnesty supporters assert that to deport her would violate the rights of her son Saul, a United States citizen, as he would be forced to be deported with her.
“I felt terrible because they were treating me like a criminal,” said Arellano, “Perhaps my only crime was to work to make a future for my son.”
Of course Arellano is a criminal; She broke the law twice by sneaking into the United States. Committed fraud by obtaining false documents and then worked illegally. She was already deported once and is a fugitive attempting to avoid deportation again!
I don’t even want to address the issue of any church giving her sanctuary and breaking federal law. I wonder if they would have helped her if she was an Orthodox Jew?
Elvira Arellano’s arrogant entitlement assumptions goes to the very heart of the Illegal Alien problem. This serves as another example of how screwed up the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services are. If the Immigration Reform Bill S1348 passes it will get even worse.
Elvira Arellano is only one Illegal Alien criminal, whose case began in 2002 and five years later is still in limbo. The government has a snowball’s chance in hell of sorting out the other 19,999,999 Illegal Aliens.

“I don’t even want to address the issue of the Catholic church giving her sanctuary and breaking federal law. I wonder if they would have helped her if she was an Orthodox Jew?”
I, too, believe she broke the law and that that is unacceptable. But the opening line of your essay states that she is staying “… in the Adalberto United Methodist church in Chicago ..” Is her case an ecumenical effort?
i have corrected my post as you are right in your observation. I’ve fired my proof reader.
Anyone that studies Bible doctrine knows that Jesus Christ did not advocate breaking the law, which is what this woman has most definitely done.
You dirty hypocrite. You acquired your resident alien status and now are working hard for others to not have the same opportunity that you had. Filthy beast !
Well Alberto, I am a proud U.S. citizen – and I got that LEGALLY. Whereas Ms. Arellano snuck into the United States illegaly – twice. She was deported once and returned to keep breaking laws and got caught. I have no sympathy for her or the 20 million more illegal aliens who broke the law and don’t care a damn about the United States.
Alberto, I don’t even know how you can have the audacity to compare the two situations. The illegal aliens that have ignored our laws and the legal procedure to immigrate here are a slap in the face to every immigrant waiting in line to gain citizenship. My forefathers immigrated here legally and actually wanted to become US citizens and work towards the American dream. Well, it is quite obvious that your values are skewed.
Where’s the Kid’s Father? Let me guess – he’s undocumented also! When are the politicians going to wake up; Thousands of Illegal Women are having Children in this country because they are under the impression that these kids are their ticket to a free green card. How about sponsoring a new law; If you’re illegal – your children are also, regardless of the fact they are born in U.S. soil! Enough is enough!
Thanks for information.
many interesting things
