Farmers Branch, TX Grabs the Bull by the Horns: Bans Renting to Illegal Aliens

Voters in the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch, overwhelmingly approved a referendum that prohibits landlords from renting to illegal aliens. The referendum passed with about 68 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results. Pro-rental-ban City Council candidates David Koch and Tim Scott also won easily. The city reported that 5,999 voters went to the polls, a record for city elections.

Tim Scott, a supporter of Ordinance 2903 who won a seat on the Farmers Branch City Council, cheered as returns came in Saturday.

Citizens here are sending a message to Washington – if those elected to Congress will not take control of the immigration problem, then the citizens will. Supporters of the referendum say illegal immigration has placed too much of a burden on local services, such as schools. They say that the law needs to be enforced and that the federal government isn’t doing that.

Immigration enforcement is the biggest social issue facing this nation and has a huge mountain of opposition to climb. The leftists, the liberals, the Democrats, yes even the Republicans and the President have no desire to get control of the borders or the estimated 12 – 20 million illegal aliens.

There are 38 Sanctuary cities in 17 states in this country, this means that city employees do not notify the federal government of the presence of illegal aliens living in their communities. Police cannot ask if a suspect is here legally or inform ICE even if they know the facts or arrest a criminal. Two illegal aliens with previous arrest records were responsible for the drunk driving deaths of four people. Three of the “Fort Dix Six” were illegal aliens, who entered the U.S. crossing the southern border with Mexico. The Duka brothers had 45 traffic violations between them and law enforcement did nothing!

We the citizens with our votes can boot the open border crowd out of office. We can call our city halls and Washington and tell them how we feel. We too can march in the streets and let everyone know that we want to stop this. Here’s a list of the sanctuary cities:
