Democrats & Pelosi — All Hat & No Cattle

Monday, January 8, 2007

Nancy Pelosi’s lack of leadership experience is already apparent just a day and a half after being anointed, Speaker of the House. Pelosi boldly promised, “In the first 100 legislative hours, Democrats will get to work immediately to restore civility, integrity, and fiscal responsibility to the House, while increasing prosperity, opportunity, and security for all Americans.”

But wait — don’t touch that dial — those first 100 hours won’t start until Tuesday’s legislative session after this Monday’s off day so lawmakers — particularly those from Ohio and Florida — could attend or participate in NCAA football national championship activities. So much for the Democratic insistence on a five-day work week.

Pelosi Face tne Nation

On Sunday, Nancy Pelosi spoke on CBS’ “Face the Nation” like she was scolding her grand-kids, “If the president wants to add to this mission he is going to have to justify it. And this is new for him because up until now the Republican Congress has given him a blank check with no oversight, no standards, no conditions,”. Pelosi added that Congress will not abandon U.S. troops in Iraq, but Democrats will sort out which money is paying for “escalation” and which for existing security operations.

In a letter delivered Friday to President Bush, Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have proposed a phased withdrawal of U.S. forces effective within the next four to six months.
“Surging forces is a strategy that you have already tried and that has already failed. Like many current and former military leaders, we believe that trying again would be a serious mistake. They, like us, believe there is no purely military solution in Iraq. There is only a political solution,” “Adding more combat troops will only endanger more Americans and stretch our military to the breaking point for no strategic gain. … We are well past the point of more troops for Iraq.”

Nancy Pelosi talks big, but does not have the backing of her party to put her threats into action. Many of the Democrats are split on the surge issue and when it finally comes down to it Bush will get his way.

Cracks are already appearing in the Democrats get tough on Iraq stance when Joe Biden, D-DE appeared with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who said if, “a precondition to political stability and economic recovery is security,”…. “So I will support the idea of putting more American troops on the ground in Iraq with a purpose … To me, it is a strategy that is based on the needs of the moment. Even though it may not be politically popular for the moment, I think it is in our best interests long term.”

So what it is it Nancy — That first 100 hours of pea-brained legislation or troop withdrawal ? — The Democrats talked real tough on the campaign trail and then immediately forgot how they got their majority as soon as she hit that big gavel last Thursday. Like I said, the Democrats are All Hat and No Cattle.

Been a while since I’ve heard anyone described as ‘All hat and no cattle’ but that pretty well applies to the entire democrat party. They’ll come calling for help from the Patroitic American right when the terrorist start killing their families right here in the U.S.

Great article. It’s only a matter of time before Americans wake up and vote out the hypocrites. Unforturnately, it may take another attack on U.S. soil before that happens. In the mean while, the liberal media will continue to inspire the terrorists with their mutual hatred of our commander in chief.

sorry a majority of Americans think you’re wrong dude, I guess maybe you’re going to have to deal with being in the minority opinion in this country for another two years.
