President Barry reporting for duty

Let’s remember that Senator Obama was strongly against the Iraq War and stated his opposition to the troop surge, even predicting it’s failure. Since becoming president, Obama has never acknowledged his mistake, or praised President Bush for it’s success. On Tuesday night Obama used this as a means of deriding Bush’s success and turning his speech into his boilerplate blame game on the economy.

“Unfortunately, over the last decade, we’ve not done what’s necessary to shore up the foundations of our own prosperity. We spent a trillion dollars at war, often financed by borrowing from overseas. This, in turn, has short-changed investments in our own people, and contributed to record deficits. For too long, we have put off tough decisions on everything from our manufacturing base to our energy policy to education reform. As a result, too many middle-class families find themselves working harder for less, while our nation’s long-term competitiveness is put at risk.”

So you’d think that the end of this combat mission will mean all that money will be turned into boosting our prosperity. Wrong. Obama will now use those billions to fund the expanded war in Afghanistan.

The end of combat speech morphed into another campaign pitch on the state of the U.S. economy and how tough it is out there. As if Barack and Michelle have a clue of how the average American is struggling, while eating Lobster at the finest restaurants and estates in Maine and Martha’s Vineyard.

“Our most urgent task is to restore our economy, and put the millions of Americans who have lost their jobs back to work. To strengthen our middle class, we must give all our children the education they deserve, and all our workers the skills that they need to compete in a global economy. We must jumpstart industries that create jobs, and end our dependence on foreign oil. We must unleash the innovation that allows new products to roll off our assembly lines, and nurture the ideas that spring from our entrepreneurs. This will be difficult. But in the days to come, it must be our central mission as a people, and my central responsibility as President.”

Some inspiring and momentous speeches have been made from the Oval Office by great Presidents. Once again President Obama fails in every category, especially as Commander-In-Chief.

The article entitled, “Complicated Balancing Act for Imam in Mosque Furor”, by Anne Bernard is a heavy dose of PR in 33 paragraphs. Naturally the Times edits out the facts on this self described “peacemaker”, who apparently wants reconciliation between America and Middle Eastern Muslims.

Left out is the fact that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is a key figure in the Malaysian-based Perdana Global Peace Organization, which is a group that helped sponsor the pro-Palestinian activists who clashed violently with Israeli commandos at sea in June. In a live interview broadcast on WABC with Aaron Klein, Rauf was asked if he agrees with the State Department’s designation of Hamas as a terrorist organization.

The Imam dodged answering the question and will not admit his support for Hamas or his dislike of Israel. This Iman, in English, states he wants a dialog between cultures and religions, but in Arabic says he wants to see Sharia Law in all Democracies. (Ground Zero Imam: ‘I Don’t Believe in Religious Dialogue’)

In 2001 in an interview on 60 Minutes by Ed Bradley, Rauf blames the United States for the World Trade Center attacks, “I wouldn’t say that the United States deserved what happened, but the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.”

Outspoken Deborah Burlingame, the sister of the American Airlines pilot whose hijacked plane struck the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 said, “I think it goes to show he is not the man he represents himself to be. We have two Imam Raufs,” she said. “We have the anti-Israel, anti-democratic imam, and we have the smiling, soft-spoken moderate Muslim who says ‘Why can’t we all get along?’ “

Those on the left, including President Obama and New York Mayor Bloomberg, argue that this is about religious freedom as protected by the U.S. Constitution and use this as a way to call everyone else opposed to the mosque’s location as bigots and Islamophobes. WRONG!

Call it a “Cultural Center” or what ever you want, but in fact it will be a mosque – a “Victory Mosque”,  just hundreds of feet from Ground Zero, which is hallowed ground to the victims and their families and every American. The September 11th attack was the day that radical Muslims brought terrorism to America and we should never forget that.

If this proponent of cultural and religious dialog is honest, which I highly doubt, than Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and his Cordoba Iniative, can out of extreme respect for the sensitivity of Ground Zero and all of it’s innocent victims, find a more suitable location.

If he were a real man, he would donate the building and create a center apologising to America for all the hatred and intolerance by radical Muslim teachings and indoctrination.

A Worried President

With over 576 speeches since Obama took the oath of office and thousands of hours of face time on television, this president has little to show for it except a huge set of bad numbers.

The Economy

The Democrats took over Congress in 2006, seven million jobs have been lost, three and a half million since Obama’s inauguration. Unemployment is at about 9.6%., that’s about 14.6 million people. Nevada is at 14.2%; Michigan, 13.2% and California at 12.3%. The GDP showed zero growth in 2008, it declined by 2.6 percent in 2009. The Consumer Price Index ticked up by 0.3% in July, and Productivity decreased by 0.9%. The housing market crash continues as home prices keep falling and about 1 in 4 single-family homes with mortgages are in negative equity. Consumer Confidence declined 3.9% in July.

We really do not need tables and government supplied statistics to know that the U.S. economy is in serious trouble and the outlook is dismal. This administration and Congress is deaf, dumb and blind to the harsh reality of every American. The Treasury Department announced that Federal spending eclipsed revenue for the 22nd straight month. In 2009, the U.S. ran a record $1.42 trillion deficit. Fiscal 2010 will run higher and the Obama administration projects $1.47 trillion. The Presidency

Public opinion means nothing to President Obama. Obama is aloof, an elitist and is out of touch with ordinary Americans, especially during this time of economic pain. The Imperial President spends hours on the golf course and Michelle Obama takes a badly timed and expensive holiday to Spain.

The public lacks confidence in Obama’s leadership as his policies are all over the map. Take his position on the controversial Ground Zero mosque; on Friday before a dinner with Muslims celebrating the end of Ramadhan he touted the Constitution and the choice of the site as not a problem. On Saturday he walked that statement back. This is similar to his off the cuff statements on the Cambridge police, the Arizona Immigration bill and a host of gaffes while not aware of the facts.

Just Obama’s handling of the Gulf Oil spill, speaks volumes to his ineptitude. He dithered and delayed, never offering a decisive plan, just bashing BP and then shutting down offshore drilling. A majority of Louisiana voters think George W. Bush did a better job with Katrina than Obama’s done dealing with the spill.

Domestic Policy

Obama has a bigger government is better policy, with bailouts and stimulus spending through the roof. The Bush tax cuts soon to expire means we will all be hit with tax increases. The Health Care bill, poorly conceived and rushed into law will be both a financial and social disaster. Already over 55% want it repealed before it takes full effect in 2014.

Obama is still clinging to an open borders, amnesty approach to illegal immigration. Every move is either pandering to the left, then the independents and finally demagogueing the opposition. It is a direct copy of Saul Alinsky style community organizing principles. Obama’s cabinet and advisors are mostly Harvard graduates with little or no real business world experience. By surrounding himself with academia he lacks any judgement beyond his think tank and focus group talking points.

National Security

Obama has embraced his most leftist leanings by diminishing the focus on terrorism and downgrading it to a criminal activity; “Overseas Contingency Operation”. With Janet Napolitano as Secretary of Homeland Security and Attorney General, Eric Holder there is a muddled policy on Guantanamo and the KSM terror trials, still scheduled for New York city.

Obama continues to draw down troops from Iraq, without a secure elected government in place. In contradiction to  his Afghanistan troop surge he is sticking to the July 2011 withdrawal of U.S. Forces as the Taliban gain political and territorial strength.

Foreign Policy

What a mess. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton bragged about Obama’s use of “Smart Power” – where is it? The White House has never stood up to Iran’s nuclear program, or Russia’s demands to stop the U.S. missile defense shield. Obama has only appeasement appeals to the despots and dictators in Syria, Turkey, China and North Korea, while pushing back against our strongest allies like Great Britain, France, Germany and Israel. President Obama has done more to weaken the United States standing in the world community than Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush combined.

Obama’s View of America

President Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism, instead he travels the globe apologising  for the U.S.A. Obama has stated, “no one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold.”

I knew that Barack Obama would make a terrible president and wrote extensively about it before his election in 2008, Why I will Not Vote For Barack Obama.

Some twenty one months after Obama was elected, most of the voters now see “The One” as the Failed One – if only they had truly listened.

President Obama to proud to lead

Once again President Obama makes a “policy” speech to gin up his re-election hopes in 2012, with full knowledge that the legislation he promises may never see the light of day. This time our Panderer-In-Chief is talking up “Immigration Reform”, to appease his Hispanic base.

Politicians have very short memories and have forgotten how angry the electorate was in 2007 when the Senate tried to ram the Kennedy-McCain-Bush Immigration bill down our throats. This time the voters are even angrier and have shown that they overwhelmingly support the  controversial Arizona immigration bill and closing the border first.

Obama spoke for over 40 minutes laying out absolutely nothing, offering not even one policy on how to solve the illegal immigration problem. Speeches filled with rhetoric, platitudes and misleading examples to prove his thesis are the norm for President Obama.

David Axelrod said, “The President believes that we must have a practical, common-sense approach that reflects our heritage and our history — as a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. Government must be accountable for enforcing the law, businesses that seek unfair advantages over competitors must be accountable for exploiting the system, and those who break the law must be accountable as well.”

Once again Barack Obama votes “present” and fails to lead.

Bring on your latest legislative challenge Mr. President. Push your Democrats in Congress to try and ram another sham bill down our throats and watch how your party will be trounced in the mid-term elections. The American people are just itching for this fight.

UPDATE: Just to add a coda to the lying platitudes that Barack Obama delivers; he repeated the same statement Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said, “The southern border is safer than ever”. From the Associated Press,

21 Dead In Mexican Gang Gun Battle Near US Border
HERMOSILLO, Mexico (AP) ― Twenty-one people are dead in Mexico following a massive gun battle between rival drug and migrant-trafficking gangs near the U.S. border.

Prosecutors in northern Sonora state say the gun battle occurred in a sparsely populated area about 12 miles (20 kilometers) from the Arizona border.

The state Attorney General’s Office said in a statement that nine people were captured by police at the scene of Thursday’s shootings, six of whom had been wounded in the confrontation.

The area is a prime corridor for immigrant and drug smuggling.

The Father of our nation looks at us in disbelief

There it was, in my email in box, President Obama sending us a Father’s Day greeting that reveals precisely who he is and what he thinks of us.

“Good afternoon,

As the father of two young daughters, I know that being a father is one of the most important jobs any man can have.

My own father left my family when I was two years old. I was raised by a heroic mother and wonderful grandparents who provided the support, discipline and love that helped me get to where I am today, but I still felt the weight of that absence throughout my childhood. It’s something that leaves a hole no government can fill.”

Since when has government ANY role in our families and it seems that Barack Obama has too many unfillable holes on his mind.

It drones on, “And while no government program can fill the role that fathers play for our children, what we can do is try to support fathers who are willing to step up and fulfill their responsibilities as parents, partners and providers. That’s why last year I started a nationwide dialogue on fatherhood to tackle the challenge of father absence head on.”

Barack Obama and the Democrats are well on their way in making this government a part of every facet of our lives. Whether it’s some regulation or tax or fee or program or give away. Washington to the “rescue”. Except what this really is, is about total control and making us so wholly dependent on them that their re-election is guaranteed.

However, like life, nothing in government is permanent and we have the opportunity to vote these idiots out of office. We can seize the moment where the people will bring government back under our control and have those we elected do our bidding instead of their own selfish myopic agenda.

Have a great Father’s Day and enjoy the time you may spend with your children. It is truly one of your own precious moments that government should stay the hell away from.

USGS Earthquake Map

I knew it was an earthquake and it’s epicenter was far away, because had it been close, the shaking would have been extremely violent, perhaps deadly. My first instinct was to think about the possibility that the structure would collapse and what I would do to save myself from the tons of concrete that would drop onto my car.

As the ground continued to shake for about 1o seconds, I looked around at other people walking to their cars and saw no reactions. What’s wrong with these people I thought; all stupidly so unaware.

It was centered near Ocotillo, south of Palm Springs and right on the Mexican border, it was a 5.7.  Not huge and not little. No reports of major damage or injuries. This was considered an aftershock from the large 7.2 earthquake that struck in Mexicali on April 4th.

Just a warning that the planet is going to rock Los Angeles and my world really soon.

I had planned to write a long screed on Obama’s failures in foreign policy compared to Jimmy Carter. What for? It’s so obvious that Obama’s presidency is a disaster.

Even today, after the U.N. imposed another set of sanctions on Iran, sanctions that Obama was ebullient over, Ahmadinejad laughed and continues to enrich Uranium.

North Korea sinks a South Korean naval frigate in a deliberate act of war and only gets a finger wag from our Commander in Chief. Turkey conspires with Hamas and sends thugs to break the Israeli blockade and all Obama does is a two step; then sits down with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

I am so disgusted with this sissy that was elected as our president, that I have no more words to say.
Barack Obama does not have the ability to lead our country. November 2012 can’t come fast enough.
