Some of you may be wondering who the hell is John LeBoutillier anyways? Well I had to ask myself that over and over today while listening to his smarmy comments on Bill O’Reilly’s radio show. John loves hearing the sound of his own voice as he was prattling on about everything but the kitchen sink to guest host Al Rantel.

Al, has John on as a regular weekly commentator on his own show at KABC radio, in Los Angeles. Rantel instead gave “The Bout”, [pronounced 'Boot'] as he affectionately calls him, an opportunity to stink up the air waves of a national radio audience with his verbal diarrhea.

John LeBoutillier, who is 53, is an internet columnist for NewsMax.com. He’s a flame thrower, most notably known for his harsh criticisms of President George W. Bush and his Iraq War policies. John, a graduate of Harvard University was elected to Congress as a Republican in 1980, representing New York’s 6th congressional district. He only served one term, going down to defeat in 1982 to Democrat Robert J. Mrazek. During his short time as a twenty-something-year-old Congressman he was virulently spearing anybody he wanted.

In one speech he said that then House Speaker Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neill of Massachusetts was, “big, fat, and out of control.” LeBoutillier also ridiculed members of his own party, specifically Republican senator from Illinois, Charles Percy, whom he called, “a living disaster with almost no redeeming features.” It was so bad that he was admonished by future First Lady Barbara Bush and counseled to “tone it down.”, by U.S. Representative Jack Kemp.

LeBoutillier was born into social position and wealth, his father was Thomas LeBoutillier, a scion of a prominent Long Island family, and his mother, the former Pamela Tower. Her father was Roderick Tower, who was an oil broker, and a grandson of the late Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, founder of the Whitney Museum.

Get the point — LeBoutillier has a chip on his shoulder and speaks with a big silver spoon in his mouth! He makes grand statements, but never backs it up with sources or facts. Like today, he first mocked George Bush for talking about a possible troop surge in Iraq, then showed his distaste by saying that “all the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Defense Department are against it”. No proof, just ripping from unidentified anti-war rumour-mongers who write for the Washington Post. He also said he was for the war right up until the capture of Saddam Hussein, but then turned against it because “we’re loosing”. His solution was that the U.S. should have turned it over to Kofi Anan and the U.N., so that we could get the “hell out of there”.

On December 11th in NewsMax he asserts that Bush is in denial because “the president is — in the vernacular of alcoholics and recovery — what is known as a dry drunk — one who has given up drinking (as Mr. Bush did in 1986) but has not undergone proper rehabilitation in Alcoholics Anonymous, including the famous 12-step program…….His denial and refusal ever to admit a mistake are fundamental bedrocks of his un-treated alcoholic behavior.”

On Wednesday, December 6th, in a column entitled The Iraq Crisis. John LeBoutillier writes, “The President’s father, when he broke down on Monday at a ceremony for his son, Jeb, the outgoing governor of Florida, was actually releasing years of pent-up emotion about his oldest son’s massive failure in Iraq…….All this emotion came tumbling out. Yes, he loves his son, but he also knows what an embarrassment W has become. It repeats a life-long pattern: Given everything by Mom and Dad, the oldest son repeatedly screws up, but never pays a price for these mistakes. He fails up the ladder, all the way to the Oval Office.”

“Given everything by Mom and Dad” — isn’t that LeBoutillier’s life as well? John, do I denote a little jealousy here of Bush?

In fact what else is John LeBoutillier doing in his life beyond getting the occasional radio and or TV spot and a weekly comment on the internet? Maybe in his off time he’s watching his blue-chip stocks, playing the horses or probably jawing to anyone who will listen to him at his favorite bar.

John LeBoutillier likes to be known as “The Boot” — like he’s kicking ass. But the correct translation of his name from French really means “le bout” – the end, or the ass !
